She’s had a life, been everywhere. He enjoys talking with her. When she makes it clear that she’s not interested, and he makes it clear that he’s not stupid, they begin to forge a friendship. They become close—real friends. And then everything explodes.

PERFECT COLLISION
Brian 'Bear' Warren, the Vice President of the Marauder Riders MC, is a typical biker. He likes beer, women, and bikes. His only soft spot is his youngest daughter, Violet. She's a shy, careful, and insecure girl, who generally did her very best to be noticed as little as possible. Bear always did his best to protect her, especially from her own mom, but did an almost too good job at it. Because by the time she turns eighteen, she's still a shy, careful, insecure, and slightly naïve girl. 

No one could've guessed she'd grown up in a biker club. He knew Vi'd had a crush on Mac Baxter since her early teens, but around her eighteenth birthday, Mac starts to take notice of Vi as well. As far as Bear was concerned, Mac might be good guy, a fellow member of the Marauder Riders MC, his best friend's son, and someone Bear'd known since the day he was born—but he still didn't like the thought of his Vi with a six years older biker. Not at all. 

At the same time, he knew he had to accept that his daughter was growing up. In the choice between Vi with Mac, or Vi with some other guy, Mac might be the better option. There wasn't much Violet Warren considered easy in life. Even just talking to people was a challenge, because she tended to stutter and blush whenever she opened her mouth. On the other hand, she didn't like all that many people. Her dad was one of few people she loved, simply because he understood her. Or at least tried to understand her, as opposed to her mom. 

Then there was Mac... She couldn't really say she knew Mac, but he'd been around her entire life, since he was the son of the club’s President. She liked him. He was the one who suggested she could become a tattoo artist, an idea she loved, since drawing was one of few things she considered herself good at. Her dad helped her to get a spot as an apprentice at Wicked Ink. That's when things started to look up, and she owed it to Mac. She wasn't sure how to thank him properly until he asked her to do a tattoo on him. It sort of went downhill from there. 

Marcus 'Mac' Baxter couldn't really say he knew Vi. She was just the tiny, shy girl who'd always had a sketchbook in her lap. He knew she'd been crushing on him when she was a kid, but he'd never thought much about it. She was simply one of the younger club kids, and not one of those you took notice of. When he decided to become a Marauder, he left Greenville, Arizona, to join the Emporia, Kansas charter instead. He wanted to make a name for himself and not just be 'Brick's son.' A few years later he transferred back, and realized Vi had grown up while he was away. But you didn’t take advantage of a girl who’d been crushing on you for years, a girl who was the daughter of a fellow member. You just didn’t. And you definitely didn’t kiss her. That was insane… But that’s what he did.

CENTER OF GRAVITY
Anna’s goal in life had been set when she was ten years old: she was going to become a principal dancer at the New York City Ballet, and she made it. Her entire life revolved around dancing, and she loved every second of it. But after a split-second lapse of attention, she lost it all. 

Now, with a heart as broken as her leg, she agrees to follow her aunt Irina back home—to Greenville, Arizona.

Spike’s grin widens and he rubs his hands together. “I dare you to run out into that snow, clucking like a chicken.” “You’re a bastard!” Addison grunts. “If you don’t do the dare, you’re out, which means you don’t get to return the favor.” “Fine,” Addison says, standing. “I’m not scared.” She hops over the side of the hot tub and squeals when the cold air ...hits her. Then she tucks her hands up into her armpits and begins clucking as she runs out into the snow. It’s impossible not to laugh. Her little clucking sounds are something I could never describe, they’re hilarious. I am laughing so hard my stomach hurts, Ciara is snort laughing and Serenity has her mouth open but is making no noise she is laughing so hard. By the time Addison gets back, she’s shaking. “F**king bastard!” “Language, baby,” Jackson laughs. She shoots Jacksons a glare. “Don’t make me hurt you, daddy.” “Who’s next?” Serenity says, between chuckles. “Well, Spike of course,” I giggle. Addison turns to him, not letting anyone else close. “I dare you to go and ask the neighbours for sugar, in only your jocks. We all know they’re going to stick to those spikes.” I burst out laughing, and Muff does the same. “F**kin’ genius, Addi!” Spike is glaring at her, because he knows that his jocks will stick. “Fine, I’m not f**kin’ scared!” he grunts. He stands and now it’s hard not to notice that the jocks do, in fact, show all his spikes. It’s like a damned pin cushion. I look away, flushing. “Nice job,” Serenity says, nodding. “Hey!” Jackson says, pulling her onto his lap. “Eyes off!” Ciara giggles, and covers her face with her hands. “God, this is shameful!” Spike leaps out of the spa and struts proudly across the lot, until he’s about half way, then he runs because it’s so damned cold. We all wait anxiously, desperate to know the outcome. He comes around the corner a few minutes later, and thrusts his hand into the air with a victory cry. He got the damned sugar. We all laugh and cheer as he drops the cup and runs towards the spa, leaping in and splashing water everywhere. “Burned baby!” he says to Addi, splashing her with water.

 I scream and leap backwards as he appears around the side of the building. Up close, he’s powerful, huge and dominating. He has a tattoo of a bird on his neck, and it seems to be staring at me, taunt...ing me. I lift my eyes to meet his, and I gasp softly. Beauty, it just doesn’t cover what he is. He can’t be classed as beautiful. There is only one word I could ever use to describe him, and that is…devastating. “Hello Cricket,” he purrs, using a nickname for me that he used to use when I was a little girl. “Long time, no see.” I swallow, and grip my backpack. “Axel.” He smiles, showing me a row of perfect, white teeth. Two dimples appear in his cheeks. “And here I was thinking you’d forgotten about me, I mean, you’ve been running for me now for…what has it been, Cricket? Over a year?” “One year, three months and six days,” I whisper, shuffling backwards. He chuckles. “And you know I was going to catch up to you eventually, so we could have avoided all this if you had just given me what I wanted back then.” I don’t say anything, I just grip my backpack straps tighter, and let my eyes dart around behind my sunglasses to look for a way out. I see a thick mass of trees behind him, probably about fifty meters. If I could get to them, I could hide myself…I also see a pile of rusty metal poles in the corner, leaning against the wall. I turn my body slightly toward them, and begin very slowly backing up. “Nice disguise you have there, but you know, when you live in a disguise, people start looking for it. Should have changed it, Cricket.” “Don’t call me that,” I hiss. “Take off your hoodie, Meadow,” he rasps. “Let me see you. Let me see the girl who has fucked my life up for the past year. It’s been so long, hasn’t it? Last time I saw those baby blue eyes, you were jumpin’ off a bridge tryin’ to end your life.” I flinch and anger builds in my chest. I grip my sunglasses and I pull them off, then I lower my hoodie and rip my cap off. I want him to see me. I want him to look into my eyes and see the determination there. He won’t beat me, it doesn’t matter how hard he tries – I’ll try harder. I lift my face and I stare him right in the eyes. And it’s because of that, I notice his reaction. His body flinches, only just barely, and his eyes widen. He hasn’t seen me since that awful night. Our interactions after that, were done with me being fully covered. I stand on trembling legs as he takes me in, letting his eyes move over my body. I notice when he narrows his eyes, that he has small lines beside his eyes, the only indication of his age. “Well f**k me, Cricket. You grew up and became a knock out, and here you are, wastin’ it by runnin’ when all you have to do, is give me what I want and you can go on your way. Wouldn’t it be nice to be a normal girl?” “Do you think I’m stupid?” I say, trying to stop my voice from trembling. He glares at me. “You are f**kin’ stupid, because you’ve been wastin’ your time running for me for the past year.” “And I’ll continue running from you, Axel. I won’t stop. And if you think I’m going to fall for your promises of freedom for me if I hand over the goods, then you know nothing about me. I’ve lived with bikers before, remember? I’ve seen the promises made. You’ll not get your hands on me…”. His eyes harden and he takes a step forward. I brace myself to run. “Is that so? Funny, because you’re the one trapped against a toilet wall with no where to go.” “Again,” I whisper, reaching around behind me and gripping the long metal poles I’ve been edging closer to. “You don’t know me, if you knew me, you’d know that I know what I’m doing by now, and no one traps me against a wall.” I swing the pole. His body moves to block it, but it hits his hands so hard he goes reeling back with a roar. I swing it again, connecting with his kneecaps. When he drops to the ground, I run. It’s one thing I do know how to do. I put my head down, my arms by my side and I run as fast as I can move.

A REVIEW OF REAPERS PROPERTY 
This is an awesome book that I can pick up at any time and re-read and get lost in - and I rarely reread books. The characters and the environment in which the story is set are very believable - we see the story from both Marie's and Horse's point of view, and each point of view is equally well written. Over the book we see the development of a relationship between Horse and Marie - Marie's misgivings about life as the woman af a member of an MC... Yet at the very end it is Marie who is the hero - showing how much strength that role requires. Every girl needs a bit of Horse in her life..

 REAPERS LEGACY

FIRST REACTION to REAPER'S LEGACY
OMG! I thought Horse was hot, and then there was Ruger... This book is at least as good as Reaper's Property, and, like the earlier book, could easily stand in its own right. Although if I'd started with Reaper's Legacy, I'd have bought Reaper's Property anyway. Based on the number of times I've read and reread this already I think it's safe to say this will be good value... It comes out on the 28th January.... Without letting too much slip it is say to say that Ruger is beyond hot - and has more than met his match in Sophie.... persuading her to give him a chance is pretty hard work....

REVIEW OF DEVIL'S GAME
Truly awesome. Joanna Wylde takes a gamble on a hugely successful series, and looks at things from a different perspective. Em found it difficult to find a man in her father's club, the Reapers, but after a very rocky start, where he kidnaps her, starts to develop a relationship with Hunter, a member of the enemy club, the Devil's Jacks. When we first heard of the Devil's Jacks, they were the stuff of nightmares with their treatment of Gracie. During Devil's Game we see another side to them and their struggle to change things within the club. The various interactions between characters representing different factions elevate this book above the norm. It would have been easier to write another book about the Reapers, containing more on favourites like Horse and Ruger, but Joanna challenges her audience to not only look at things from a different viewpoint, but also to engage with characters that were previously the enemy

REAPER'S STAND
With two daughters to raise and the Reapers Motorcycle Club to manage, Reese 'Picnic' Hayes keeps his relationships free and easy - and he definitely wouldn't waste his time on a glorified cleaning lady like London Armstrong. If only he weren't completely obsessed with her. Although London may be deeply attracted to the Reapers' president, she knows better than to get caught up with his sort. But when her young cousin finds trouble with a ruthless drug cartel, Reese might be the only man who can help. Now London has to make the hardest decision of her life - how far will she go to save her family?

REVIEW FOR REAPER'S STAND
The problem I have with Jo Wylde books is that I am running out of superlatives. I LOVE THIS BOOK. I love the fact that the main characters are not in their twenties. I love the story line I love seeing characters from the other Reapers books. In all honesty I can’t think of a bad thing to say – apart from it’s only 321 pages – so far too short…. Now here's a difficulty - a lot of Kristen's books appeal to me - not just the ones that are strictly biker. Although to be fair there are a lot of motorcycle-riding men in these books... Most of her books that are set in Denver interlink - and characters from one series appear in another. The central foci are Fortnum's bookshop/café and Nightingale Investigations on the one hand, and Ride Customs and the Chaos MC on the other. The Denver Police also figure, as do some underworld groups and shadowy mercenaries...

The Rock Chick Series - hot men and sassy women - what could go wrong?
 The Dream Man series - four men from different lifestyles and professions.
The Chaos Series - a spin-off from 'Motorcycle Man' following the fortunes of characters from that book and the MC.
The Colorado Mountain Men are semi-detached from the Denver series, but the small towns of Carnal and Gnaw Bone and their surroundings are still a hotbed of intrigue...

 So where to start with all these... 'Motorcycle Man' and the Chaos Series is the most bikery of the series so here we go...

MOTORCYCLE MAN
Stuck in a colorless world, Tyra Masters decides to chuck her old life and starts searching for something. She doesn’t know what it is until she meets her dream man. The goateed, tattooed, muscled, gravelly voiced motorcycle man who plies her with tequila and gives her the best sex of her life. But she knows it isn’t the tequila and sex talking. He’s it. He’s who she’s been daydreaming about since she could remember. Until he makes it clear she isn’t who he’s looking for. Tyra slinks away from his bed, humiliated. The problem is, he’s her new boss. She just may or may not have forgotten to tell him that part. Kane “Tack” Allen has a rule. He doesn’t employ someone he’s slept with. And he lets Tyra know that in his motorcycle man way. Tyra fights for her job and wins it using sass and a technicality. Tack challenges her that if she hits his bed one more time, she loses her job. Tyra is determined to keep her job and keep away from Tack. But she makes a big mistake. During their head-to-heads, she lets it all hang out and shows Tack she is who he’s looking for. And Tack has had a good woman slip through his fingers, he’s not about to let that happen again. Although Tack colors Tyra’s world with a vibrancy that’s blinding, being with him means she has to live in his Motorcycle Club world. Full on, no holds barred. And since Tack’s world, not to mention Tack, is a little scary, Tyra isn’t so sure. It's Tack's job to convince her.

This is where it all began - this is the first biker romance that I read and really enjoyed - I think I return to it and its sequels more often than any other. All the characters, not just Tack and Tyra, are personalities in their own right, and the placement of the story in Denver is beautiful. The fact that this book has spawned its own series of sequels is testament to its quality.

OWN THE WIND
Tabitha Allen has a not-so-secret crush on Parker "Shy" Cage. Shy thinks he knows the path Tabby's on and it isn't a good one. So he decides to teach her a lesson to lead her to the right path. Unfortunately, he was wrong and his actions wound Tabby, breaking her heart. It's Tabby who then teaches Shy a lesson about casting judgment and Shy Cage learns what it feels like to be invisible. But when tragedy strikes and Tabby's heart is broken again, Shy does what he can in the background to help. Trying to forget her heartbreak, Tabby finds herself in danger. To keep it secret from her biker family, the Chaos Motorcycle Club, she calls Shy to rescue her. But when she lets him back in, she gets much more than she bargained for.

In addition to the main story in 'Own the Wind' - Kristen has added a Christmas episode in 'A Christmas to Remember' - a collection of short seasonal stories.

REVIEW OF BREATHING HIS AIR
Tori travels with a mobile coffee shop, never staying anywhere long enough to entangle herself. When she pitches up in Pitnam, she expects to sell coffee, give free love advice, and then move on. But she parks in Rain’s territory, and in a biker town… Rain’s got business to attend to, and an MC to run: he doesn’t need a goofy travelling barista in his car park. However, he can’t have women abducted from his bar, and he can’t have his bikers distracted by cookies and love advice, and he claims her for himself… I won’t go further into the story – it twists and turns with loads of surprises. If you’re looking for another biker book, copied from Sons of Anarchy or plotless sexploitation, this isn’t it. This is an entertaining, fast-paced, original biker romance, that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

I don't think I've come across anyone as amoral as Cam. What he wants he takes, and what's his he protects. Which is HOT...

Christina is almost the complete opposite - ordinarily they'd never meet - but coincidence and circumstance bring them together and the sparks fly.

The background to the story is the Moroad MC - these guys are rough, tough and mostly imprisoned.

The whole package is another in Debra's long line of brilliant biker books.
